Event Overview
This beautiful tune, also known as 'Limerick's Lamentation', has an extensive Jacobite history in both Ireland and Scotland. We’ll learn to sing the old tune with its Scots lyrics by Alan Ramsey (published 1724), comparing it to the tune Bunting collected from the Irish harper Patrick Quin. We’ll work out a harp accompaniment to our singing, finishing off with a pipe-inspired version of Bunting’s tune.
