Event Overview
This lovely and meditative setting of 'Port Ballingowne' from the Straloch Lute MS (Scottish, 17th c.) beautifully fits early descriptions of the early Scottish port. We’ll briefly discuss transcribing these possible early harp pieces from lute tablature, compare this version to others that have come down to us from the Skene lute MS and the MacLeacn-Clephane MS, then work through and play my version with fingering.
