This hands-on workshop will explore where the historical harpers placed their hands on their harps. We will start with an exercise on your own harp that will bring you a greater awareness of your performance practice, then look at the evidence on some of the historical harps, and delve into what that tells us about how these harps were played. You will practice using that information to inform your own playing style. Afterwards, we will look at some of the other signs of use players have left behind, and what those can tell us about the life stories of their instruments.
