Using simple but interesting tunes, Alessia will gently introduce you to Edward Bunting’s hasty notations from live performance by indigenous Irish harpers in the late 18th century. This is the closest we can now get to what they actually played. In this workshop, you can have a go yourself at transcribing what you think Edward Bunting was trying to write down, and to compare your efforts with your class mates before trying it out on your harp.
